Shenoy Technique

Minimally invasive laparoscopic nephrectomy procedure has appealed to voluntary donors -now live donors have another choice. This procedure provides the safety of a retroperitoneal approach with a very small incision to extract the kidney, yet  sufficient to perform the mobilization of the kidney and dissection of the vessels and ureter. There are two key elements that make this procedure possible: 1. The strategic placement of the incision to provide access to all key components of dissection and reduce post-operative discomfort. 2. Instrumentation developed in concert with Thompson Surgical Instruments, Inc., to enhance the limited exposure.
